You know what else makes me mad when I read their crap now -- is how it's all about them and keeping your focus on them -- they talk about building "spiritual qualities" and "maintaining a good relationship with Jehovah" by reading their stupid literature, studying their stupid literature, making comments at meetings about and from their stupid literature, and then trying to get total strangers to read their stupid literature too! It's all about following their program -- a treadmill of meetings, field service, study, blech!!
NOTHING about good deeds, charity toward others, being kind and helpful... Or spending your time with family & friends, or doing volunteer work that has practical value. Just slog along on their treadmill, with everybody supposed to be doing the same thing, no matter that we are all different .... and even their stupid Bible texts say that "not all of you should become teachers," etc., and that different body parts all have different functions....
Bah.

"In willingness I will sacrifice to you."—Ps. 54:6.
Certain sacrifices are fundamental for all true Christians and are essential to our cultivating and maintaining a good relationship with Jehovah. Such sacrifices include devoting personal time and energy to prayer, Bible reading, family worship, meeting attendance, and the field ministry. (Josh. 1:8; Matt. 28:19, 20;Heb. 10:24, 25) As a result of our efforts and Jehovah’s blessing, the preaching work is accelerating, and many continue to stream to “the mountain of the house of Jehovah.” (Isa. 2:2)
To support Kingdom activities, many make sacrifices to serve at Bethel, to assist with building Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls, to organize conventions, or to do relief work in the wake of natural disasters. This additional work is not a requirement to gain life but is vital to supporting Kingdom interests. It is a joy to see that many are willingly making sacrifices for Jehovah. w13 12/15 2:2, 3

Watch the GB lie
by jonza injust a short clip i made of gb members contradicting (lying) about the child abuse issues.

This is great.
You know what is really weird though, that in Lett's talk from the WT /JW broadcast channel given TO JWs, he said, "...As an example, think about the apostate-driven lies & dishonesties that Jehovah's organization is permissive toward pedophiles."
What I don't get is why any JW would even know about this, most have their heads buried in the sand (unless, sadly, it's happened to them or someone they know). So Lett is bringing something up -- from "apostates"!!! (supposedly) -- which JWs are supposed to "think about," then, in the next breath, totally dismiss and view as ridiculous lies.
I know, it's all part of damage control. Still, it's all just so stupid.
Such weirdness -- "THINK ABOUT these apostate driven lies - and now don't think about them. They are lies."

It's not your conduct, it's your status
by donny injw's often state that their practice of disfellowshipping is used to keep the congregation clean and free of "worldly" influences and the like, however that is just pure b.s.
in actual practice, all they actually care about is your status according to the watchtower society.
case in point is ray's situation.. ray disassociated himself about 20 years ago because elders and other jw's were constantly spreading false rumors after he quit attending meetings.

It sounds like another Ray not Ray Franz.
And hopefully Ray is a pseudonym.

How do we know the WTS monitors this site? Can anyone tell me for sure?
by LevelThePlayingField ini keep hearing this in threads.....

I wonder about this too. And once upon a time, perhaps 4 or 5 years ago, I shared here and on other ex-JW sites the major reason for my awakening -- it was due to looking through the BS book, My Book of Bible Stories. I was going to give this book to my little grandchildren when I suddenly saw it through their little eyes, and the images were so shocking, frightening and horrible to me.
I posted about this, and poof -- a year or two later comes Caleb and Sophia. Now I'm not saying there is a connection, but it does make me wonder.

Remember that Letter to Elders that asked them to privately inquire if any of the brothers were LAWYERS.....
by Muddy Waters ini remember a thread here somewhere where a letter to the body of elders was posted and elders were to read part of the letter asking who might have experience or training in video media, graphic design, etc.
then on a separate page not to be read to the congregation was for elders to make discreet inquiries as to any who might have legal knowledge, experience or expertise.. well, in view of all this new kafluffle about branch closures, building work suspended, bethel layoffs, etc., it really makes me wonder now just what the heck is going on.
has the gb been shafted by their own legal counsel or financial advisors?

Has the GB been shafted by their own legal counsel or financial advisors? Could they have put their trust in the son of earthling man (worldly counsel?) and are now reaping what they have sown?
I am also noting the really weird behaviours recently from both Sam Herd and Anthony Morris in their broadcast talks from different months, though very recent. Both of them had such similar demeanours -- defeated, tired, dispirited, uncomfortable.... There was no excitement in their manner, they did not sound encouraged or encouraging.
And there is also the issue of payouts to victims of child abuse and child sexual abuse... and now questions as to their charitable status...
It all makes you wonder, What the heck is really going on?? Is the money well really drying up?
I mean, we really don't know, we can only speculate, it is all so very weird.

This newly leaked letter PROVES the WTS are hypocrates and do not speak the truth.
by Dunedain inafter reading this newly leaked letter, something profoundly "hit" me.
myself, being born a "witness", and most of us here, who have learned their teachings for years, know of the "importance" the gb/wts always placed on the watchtower and awake magazines, themselves.. from the magazines inception, from back in probably the 1920's, or somewhere that far back, the wts claimed that the preaching work, and specifically the distribution of these magazines, were a sign of the times, and a fulfilment of bible prophecy in these last days.
they would compare the watchtower magazine to a "stinging scorpion", claiming those magazines fulfilled that verse in revelation.

Bravo, Dunedain!!
EXCELLENT POST and I'm wondering if reasoning like this might help wake up some dubbies!
Also on that note of logic and reason, the WT has also said how JWs are like locusts traversing the earth, going everywhere with their message, going through the back yards and up into apartment buildings, etc., to spread the good news! How will this apply if they do away with the preaching work or do cart-only witnessing? (Though this has not been confirmed and is a future speculation about the future of door-to-door work) but if that event does happen, is another point to use or bring up for the dubs to explain.
Anyway, I can't like or love your post enough, lol. Wonderful reasoning and logic! It is good to turn their words against them and expose their duplicity and to show how they're making it all up as they go along.

Signature Quote - what do you think?
by Muddy Waters ini apologize for the self-serving nature of this post.. i first said this to a lovely person here to encourage her and add a bit of humour to a harsh situation, but i've fallen in love with my own words, ha, and would like to use a variation of what i said to her as my new signature quote.
it's a bit long, and could become tiresome eventually, but do you forum members think that you might like (or could tolerate, heh) seeing this on my posts?.
.... "may god, or the universe, or airborne spaghetti, or energies or wavelengths or frequencies, or quantum particles that somehow attract things to us, or telepathic manipulation by aliens -- bless you.

Cangie, too funny! Thank you.
And big haha! back atchoo, Oubliette, the master of "Let's review - it's a cult!!!" - your quote is much shorter and catchy. And I always love it, lol.
Steve, you are quite correct - the last part of my quote isn't quite original, there are many variations of that positive thought. And I love all of them. :)

Haha, thank you everybody for your responses. Perhaps I'll use it like salt & sprinkle it around every now and again.
"Let every utterance be sasoned with salt..." Gawd, there's no getting away from the Borg, is there? it's like a little piece of hardware is still left inside your system somewhere..... ready to sprout up and pop through your skin....
